David
Home
was born 1958, Paisley, Scotland
and moved with his parents to live in
Australia when he was six.
During the seventies, Home worked on
fishing boats, oil rigs, construction
sites and cattle properties around Western
Australia and the Northern Territories of
Australia. He established a import/export
clothing trading and manufacturing
business with his first wife, and in the
later eighties ran a clothing
manufacturing business on his own.
In 1991 he established TVB Marketing
International, a marketing company that
operates independent |
|
|
|
Marketing programs for major five-star
hotel groups. He opened offices in Brazil
in 1991/1992, then between 1993 and 1998,
married for the second time, he expanded
TVB in to Africa and the Middle East,
opening offices in Egypt, Saudi Arabia,
Gulf countries. Pakistan, India, Morocco,
Zimbabwe and then later European countries
such as Turkey, Russia and Bulgaria. |

During these years of career travel, Home
spoke to and listened to a broad
cross-section of men. He learned about
their relationships their lives, their
women. Whatever culture, religious
affiliation or social position he
encountered, men confided to him the same
sense of disenchantment and
disillusionment about the role and
position of men in modern Western and
Westernized society.
In the end, he decided to write about it.
The result is The Cry of the
Bastard.
